THE WALK-IN

(607)-754-4433

The Walk-In is Open EVERYDAY 9am - 9pm.

The Walk-In at EFP has been designed to meet the needs of our patients and the community. You do not need an appointment and will be seen by a health care professional in the order you check in the office. However, emergency conditions will take priority. Reminder: HMO insurances need a referral (if not an EFP patient).

The Walk-In was designed for the medical evaluation of urgent health care problems.

Examples may include:

  • Coughs and colds
  • Cuts that may need stitches
  • Ear pain
  • Fever
  • Eye infections
  • Asthma attack
  • Minor injuries
  • Sprained muscles or joints
  • Urinary infections

The following serious conditions should be evaluated at the hospital emergency room:

  • severe chest pain
  • severe shortness of breath
  • complicated lacerations

The Walk-In will be staffed by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. If your medical condition requires hospitalization, then your primary care provider will be notified and you will be admitted to the hospital under his or her care. If blood work or x-rays are necessary, you will be sent to the appropriate department of Wilson or Lourdes Hospital. Depending on your insurance, blood work may also be done right here at the office.
